The Young Hollywood Collection: The Girls

The Agency makes it their business to always be looking for ‘The Next Big Thing’.  A great Talent Agent can spot diamond potential from and in launching the Young Hollywood Collection you can look to support those starlets tipped for greatness.leighton

Whether it’s actors or singers we love to watch talents evolve before our eyes and either be lost into obscurity or rise to legendary status.  Hollywood is full of wannabes without the talent, hard work or luck required to breakthrough.  Those smiling, fresh faces we’ve seen on the red carpet recently hide hours of dedication, choosing drama school and endless auditions over friends and TV.kirsten

Starting with the Female Collection we have the more classic stylings of Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr of Gossip Girl team up against Kirsten Stewart and Ashley Greene of the Twilight Saga whose obtainable street fashion sense make popular inspiration. ashleyWith costume & styling as important as the productions themselves these girls never seen to put a fashion foot wrong and it’s hard to pick out a favorite as they all keep getting hotter! Who wins your vote in this style war?

carrieCountry singers have come a long way since the big hair, sequins and tassels stereotype of old. Carrie Underwood has transformed her own timid country girl look on American Idol to become a stunning glamourpuss (obviously with the help of a team of personal stylists!). Also, girl-next-door cutie, Taylor Swift, has her own natural elegance whilst still managing to retain her grounded southern roots.megan

The big guns in the Female Young Hollywood Collection has to be Megan Fox and Scarlett Johansson.  It’s hard to imagine such household names are still only 24 and 25 respectively. scarlettWith Megan recently named the face of Armani Cosmetics and Scarlett the face of D&G Cosmetics their separate styles are all about confidence, sensuality and strength despite their own, more reserved, personalities being at odds with their public images.

Girls who act in the fantasy genre tend to have guys going weak at their geeky knees and these girls are no exception! Everyone’s favorite blue beauty Zoe Saldana from Avatar, Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) and Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place use their on-screen images of female empowerment yet all retain their own personal styles.

leaGlee-ding lady, Lea Michelle, who plays Rachel Berry in the hit TV Show Glee is set to be a huge star on Broadway. Her amazing performance at New York’s Tony Awards earlier this year in a taxi-cab yellow dress by Zac Posen has already elevated her to lead role status amongst the theatre elite.

To give your Star a boost & the chance to hit the headlines make up your entry into this Collection’s Who Wore It Better? Competition (keep an eye on emails, the wall and the forum for details).  What will make your Star stand out from the crowd?  All the outfits, both male and female, are strictly limited in number and are available in Theo King stores from Thursday August 26 to September 3 2010 so get ahead of the competition and buy your pieces quickly! I hear from the Agency that some dresses have already sold out!

‘Who Wore It Better’ Competition Winners

Inspired by the red carpet designs of the past Theo King’s exclusive Red Carpet Collection, announced in line with this year’s Oscar ceremony, was an instant hit amongst Hollywood elite.

With Theo King fast becoming LA’s hottest fashion designer it was inevitable that his much-celebrated Red Carpet Collection would be rocked out by more than one celebrity starlet this Awards season.  A ‘Who Wore It Better’ competition was launched by Star Fever Agency to determine which Stars had the most style and after a closely run contest we managed to speak exclusively to the winning Agents who style their Star’s image & popularity.

velvetTo prove that true style never goes out of fashion Agent Velvet Touch was inspired to dress her Star, Brynn Britt, in Audrey Hepburn’s classic 1954 Givenchy. “The dress is so pretty that I just knew Brynn’s feminine charm would be a perfect fit. She’s a tough cookie to please at times but she shone on the red carpet in this dress”

lyricWith many fashion commentators even suggesting Marthe Snipes wore Renee Zellweger’s daring vintage dress better than Renee herself Agent Lyric was rightly proud of her runaway win in the Who Wore It Better poll.  “Both the cut and beautiful yellow color were gorgeous and in keeping the styling simple with a bracelet and earrings the dress remained the focus”.

marinPopular socialite Agent Marin won ‘The Hilary’ dress-off with her Star, Bryce Buchanan, with the Agency’s judges loving the well-chosen necklace and purse to offset this navy blue knockout. The striking Guy Laroche dress clings to every curve but with a body to die Agent Marin was confident Bryce could pull it off. “Bryce is a health food fanatic and being a big fan of the sleek Gwyneth Paltrow I wanted to fuse laid back & glam styles together”.

brookeThe sumptuous red Versace dress made famous by Catherine Zeta Jones at the 1999 Academy Awards proved extremely popular across the red carpets this year and really made the competition fierce for Who Wore It Better.  Agent BrookeDyme’s controversial Star, Marlene Mulhare beat off the rest, looking the picture of elegance with matching accessories and was keen to promote her Star. “Although Marlene has the classic ‘girl-next-door’ she is not afraid of being controversial and after being spotted on a nudist beach last week the PR in winning this competition has been priceless”.

wilhelminawilhelmina1Highflying British Agent, Wilhelmina, stole the fashion limelight by playing stylist to Iris Streep who won not one but 2 style categories for both ‘The Halle’ and ‘The Kate’! “I knew the ‘one-shoulder’ trend was still going strong so ‘The Kate’ was always going to be a success and with probably the finest Oscar dress ever ‘The Halle’ Iris wore it best because she simply IS the best!”  Agent Wilhelmina was later heard confessing that it was her looks rather than her talent that had made her successful!

mickeyOther winners from the ‘Who Wore It Better’ Competition included Agent Menage whose Star, Ornella Doran, rocked the style stakes by wowing the crowds in Penelope Cruz’s 2007 nude Versace gown, Agent MinaJay whose re-work of the classic Julia Roberts Valentino dress on her Star, Junie Suvari, had all the hallmarks of a real movie star and last but by no means least was Agent Mickey who won the category for dressing her Star, Jeannine Hibbard, in Theo King’s take on Keira Knightley’s opulent, plum Vera Wang creation.minajaymenage

Theo King has passed on his congratulations to the winners for yet another successful competition. Keep your eyes peeled for more opportunities to raise the profile of you and your Stars soon.

Miley Flourishes In $25,000 Peacock Dress

The Britney-ized transformation from Disney sweetheart to dangerous sex-kitten now seems complete for 17 year old Miley Cyrus who’s been toying with controversial adult behavior for a while now (pole dancing at the Teen Choice Awards and posing nearly topless for Vanity Fair at 15). Don’t They Grow Up Fast!

1272998041_cyrus-290In the video for her new single “Can’t Be Tamed” Miley totally rocks a $25,000 silver-scale corset & dress made from 2,400 glittery metal pieces and an impressive plumage of peacock feathers.  The corset was created by New York designing duo, The Blonds who have also dressed Beyonce, Rihanna, Fergie and Britney to name a few!

Miley Cyrus Peacock DressBut here’s the exciting part!!

With Miley’s dress causing as much stir as her image rebellion the guys at Star Fever Agency and Theo King have teamed up to hand-produce 25 strictly limited edition pieces of the so-called “Cyrus Peacock”. Don’t miss out on this piece of pop history!

And with Star Fever Agency you can guarantee that no peacocks were harmed in the making of this corset.

Forget the Films. What about the Fashion?

With just a few days to go until the darlings of Hollywood grace the red carpet of the 82nd Academy Awards (and try not to clash with it!) the final fittings to the all-important outfits are being made and the excitement of ‘who will be wearing who’ begins to build.

Will Renee Zellweger look like a hobo? Did Miley Cyrus raid her grandma’s wardrobe again? How will Mickey Rourke confirm his insanity this time? These are the thoughts that stop us from sleeping this time of year so to help Hot Gossip has established The Oscar Fashion Rules For the Red Carpet Star – your guide to the tasteful, the tedious & the tit-tape.OSCARS PREP

1. Reflect your inner self.

Isn’t that what true style is all about? Don’t let your celebrity stylist have their chance of revenge. The Oscars is a showcase of your personal style and what it says about you. Read 50 reviews of the red carpet and you’ll get 50 different opinions. Some loved Cameron’s quirky look, others hated it. Some thought Jessica Biel’s hot pink frock worked, others didn’t. Who’s right? You are. Now, power your individuality & full chic ahead.Oscars Arrivals

2. Don’t let him out dress you.

For me, when I guy doesn’t wear a tie at the Oscars it becomes a Really. Big. Deal. The Oscars are a high stakes prom and you don’t want a man looking more dolled up than you! It’s stylish, it’s hot and all you have to do is wonder how to complement it. P.Diddy’s velvet and John Legend’s mocha suits are rare examples where ‘getting creative with the tux’ has worked but it’s down to the personality to pull it off so beware. For the single guy you could look no further for inspiration than singletons, Matt Stone & Trey Parker (of South Park fame), who arrived at the 2000 awards dressed in drag versions of J-Lo’s sheer green Versace & Gwyneth’s prissy pink gown much to the horror of the serious fashion press.Shrine Auditorium

3. Be bold.

Who remembers what Kate Winslet or Scarlett Johansson wore last year (or any year for that matter)? No. Well, exactly. If I see another yawn-fest of strapless-neutral-coloured-floor-length-bodice-supported gowns this year I’ll scream. The good old days of swanning around like Bjork in THAT dress, Image_6_for_Oscars_Fashion_Disasters_gallery_974377536Uma’s milkmaid outfit in 2004 and, well, anything Cher wore seem to have gone (dressing like a circus performer for an important acting award was classic!). Floridi_GAYLEKI_1383448Be glamorous & elegant but for goodness sake be inventive. A perfect example of this was Halle Berry’s graceful sheer embroidered top & deep red ball skirt she wore for her 2002 Oscar win. So, damn the fashion critics (they never agree anyway) and take risks because people remember you that way……and some of us have stayed up all night to watch you!HALLE_BERRY_PHOTO

4. Dress your age

Sometimes the best fashion lessons come from the most unlikely sources. First off a 12 year-old, like say Abigail Breslin, who looked fab in her pretty pink princess dress because for her that was the point. abigailvincebuccigetty45454-6853Then, put the same style pink prom dress on Gwyneth and – agh! – disaster but what do you expect from a woman who named her daughter Apple? Not a lot of judgement, that’s for sure. And, let’s take the 60-something British actress, Helen Mirren, but she goes against all the established rules for the oldies & bares her cleavage and arms and still looks sexy so what do I know!?

5. Let your outfit shine.

As we all know, an outfit is not just a dress – it’s the hair, the make-up & the jewels. Getting it wrong is all too easy and looking tacky with too much bling and boobs all over the place takes attention away from the dress and your face…but then again that might be the intention. Lol!

For the best examples that stuck to the rules (and which are my personal faves) look no further than Julia Roberts’ vintage Valentino, Audrey Hepburn’s gorgeous 1954 classic and Keira Knightley’s plumy Vera Wang and you can’t go wrong. What I wouldn’t give to spend the day dressing up in all the Oscar classics!  Well, Theo King is making this a reality – Buy your Stars the most famous fashions in the world – Check instore for details. What are your favorites? Let us know your thoughts by pressing ‘comments’ at the top of this feature!

Theo King Design Competition Winners

Here at Hot Gossip Magazine we’re finding out quickly that Star Fever Agents are a beautiful & talented bunch, but I guess you knew that already!  The latest exclusive to hit our desks this week was news that flamboyant designer, Theo King, had secretly unveiled to the winners of last December’s Fashion Design Competition his latest collection based on their designs.Fashion_Design___sketch_by_Ginnyx

Hot on the trail we got a sneak preview and caught up with Star Fever’s very own budding fashion designers.  Move over Donnatella!

During a brief interview Theo King was excited about this latest venture, speaking to Hot Gossip like only a top fashion designer can.  “I wanted the vision for this collection to show off the link between raw inspiration & the genius of reality.  I was inspired by the high standard of designs that were submitted. The winners were selected for their versatility & detail all working within fashion’s golden rules of aesthetic, function & form.  This allowed my team to easily play out the volume with shape & movement and create some dazzling future classics.”

The Agents whose impressive flair for fashion caught the eye of Theo King were Sonja, Max Careccio, Chelsea, Ashley, Ziggy & Pearl, all now exclusive members of the influential Gold Club, Star Fever’s secret, invite-only club reserved for the most energetic movers and shakers.

Although the full range of outfits can be viewed here we picked out a few choice cuts and found out the inspirations and influences behind what is already being hailed as “the year’s boldest and most innovative fashion line” by our contact at Vanity Fair.ashleyashley1

First off the rack is this hand-drawn design from Ashley’s whose modesty (“I draw a skirt, it ends up looking like a donkey”) didn’t stop her from submitting a winning idea, taking influences for her beautifully colored, theatrical period costume from the fantasy genre.

Sonja
sonja1

Using images to show off her gift for combining clothes Sonja revealed her approach, “When I design fashion, I stick to concepts and fabrics I like & not think to much about the consumer. You just hope that people believe in what you’re doing and at that moment it’s considered ‘fashion’.”

pearlUntitled 2Another winning design came from high-flying Agent, Pearl.  Her black & red striped feathered gown is sure to turn heads.  When asked about who she’d like to dress for the Oscars she immediately picked out style icon, Lady Gaga, although Hot Gossip won’t reveal who she said she’d undress!

After overseeing the fashion process Theo King’s top fashion adviser, Sara Garneau, seems to share the same vision of the future as winner Max Careccio by saying that “…the passion for fashion & the quality of designs presented by the Star Fever community will, I’m sure, make this Agency one of the internet’s fashion icons.”

Be sure to look out for more design competitions and in depth features on the fashion industry as Hot Gossip moves to look inside this very private world and uncover life beyond the runway.  Any questions you’ve got about the fashion industry and were too cool to ask then email Slip Digby at editor@starfever.tv
