The Young Hollywood Collection: The Girls

The Agency makes it their business to always be looking for ‘The Next Big Thing’.  A great Talent Agent can spot diamond potential from and in launching the Young Hollywood Collection you can look to support those starlets tipped for greatness.leighton

Whether it’s actors or singers we love to watch talents evolve before our eyes and either be lost into obscurity or rise to legendary status.  Hollywood is full of wannabes without the talent, hard work or luck required to breakthrough.  Those smiling, fresh faces we’ve seen on the red carpet recently hide hours of dedication, choosing drama school and endless auditions over friends and TV.kirsten

Starting with the Female Collection we have the more classic stylings of Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr of Gossip Girl team up against Kirsten Stewart and Ashley Greene of the Twilight Saga whose obtainable street fashion sense make popular inspiration. ashleyWith costume & styling as important as the productions themselves these girls never seen to put a fashion foot wrong and it’s hard to pick out a favorite as they all keep getting hotter! Who wins your vote in this style war?

carrieCountry singers have come a long way since the big hair, sequins and tassels stereotype of old. Carrie Underwood has transformed her own timid country girl look on American Idol to become a stunning glamourpuss (obviously with the help of a team of personal stylists!). Also, girl-next-door cutie, Taylor Swift, has her own natural elegance whilst still managing to retain her grounded southern roots.megan

The big guns in the Female Young Hollywood Collection has to be Megan Fox and Scarlett Johansson.  It’s hard to imagine such household names are still only 24 and 25 respectively. scarlettWith Megan recently named the face of Armani Cosmetics and Scarlett the face of D&G Cosmetics their separate styles are all about confidence, sensuality and strength despite their own, more reserved, personalities being at odds with their public images.

Girls who act in the fantasy genre tend to have guys going weak at their geeky knees and these girls are no exception! Everyone’s favorite blue beauty Zoe Saldana from Avatar, Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland) and Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place use their on-screen images of female empowerment yet all retain their own personal styles.

leaGlee-ding lady, Lea Michelle, who plays Rachel Berry in the hit TV Show Glee is set to be a huge star on Broadway. Her amazing performance at New York’s Tony Awards earlier this year in a taxi-cab yellow dress by Zac Posen has already elevated her to lead role status amongst the theatre elite.

To give your Star a boost & the chance to hit the headlines make up your entry into this Collection’s Who Wore It Better? Competition (keep an eye on emails, the wall and the forum for details).  What will make your Star stand out from the crowd?  All the outfits, both male and female, are strictly limited in number and are available in Theo King stores from Thursday August 26 to September 3 2010 so get ahead of the competition and buy your pieces quickly! I hear from the Agency that some dresses have already sold out!

sienna

All this excitement gave all of us at Hot Gossip a great excuse to peek through the fabulous & varied looks of 10 women who have shaped the way we think about fashion & style today. We’ll take a look at the men later in the week!

Sienna Miller arrived at the MET Costume Gala with not only hottie Jude Law in tow but this asymmetrical navy and black Emilio Pucci gown.  Having turned the world on with her free-flowing brand of boho chic (she’s among the key culprits behind everybody and their mother wearing tunic tops and tucking their jeans into boots) Sienna switched style lanes to sex kitten and left the wannabes in the dust. Of course, by the time the rest of us catch up she’ll have moved on to her next fashion incarnation.audrey

No style icon collection would be complete without the effortless elegance of the ever-feminine Audrey Hepburn. Despite the classic ‘My Fair Lady’ dress on offer Audrey WAS the little black dress, as she made it famous on the big screen. Women from all over the world use this little closet staple for gala’s, black tie events, weddings and more, paying homage to Audrey’s unique sense of style. Simplicity is the key for this look and by putting bold jewellery with it, you can’t go wrong. 17f2431a597db0ed_madonna_jean_paul_gaultier_cone_bra_blonde_ambition

Madonna’s ground-breaking and often controversial Blonde Ambition Tour in the 1980’s brought pop fashion up to iconic status using designers like Jean Paul Gaultier to help complete her image. From hair to layers and bangles Madonna  was the original trendsetter and her influence still echoes today with her signature bodysuits being copied by Lady Gaga.

john_travolta_and_princess_dianaPrincess Diana showed that being part of the British Royal Family meant less dressing like a ‘frump’ and more glamourous princess. The Princess captivated America when she danced with Hollywood actor, John Travolta, at a gala dinner at the White House in 1985.

twiggyTwiggy was a British model in the 1960’s who broke the mould by capturing the new wave of freedom in music & fashion. She made loose A-line one piece dresses, flat shoes & fake eye lashes the ‘It’ look for women. Twiggy also introduced women to short cut hair and wearing reformed suits (such as button down shirts, ties, and vests) like men, showing both masculinity and feminism in her own unique way.grace kelly

Playing on her ice cool reputation and timeless grace, Grace Kelly wore an Edith Head designed dress of the palest blue in 1955 to receive the Best Actress Oscar for The Country Girl. From her early days as a Philadelphia Society girl, to Hollywood stardom and princesshood as the wife of the Prince of Monaco her eternal style, sophistication and substance has had style lovers captivated for generations.

Marilyn Monroe diamonds are best friendsThe bright pink strapless Satin dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in the movie “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” was auctioned off last month and was expected to fetch between $150,000 & $250,000. Maybe it’s the bombshell, sexpot persona or the natural flair that she carried herself with. Or maybe it’s her perfect hour-glass figure and penchant for stylish, designer pieces that border on the subtle to the downright scandalous but her glamour still captures our imaginations.SaraJessicaParker_400

We all know SJP better for her  alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw defined fashion in the 90s but the actress herself as grown into a style icon of her own always carrying the latest fashion and making it her own. SJP attended the 2006 MET Costume Institute Gala with her good friend, the late Alexander McQueen, in which the pair wore fantastically daring, matching tartan designs. 2009+British+Fashion+Awards+6U-KpdvtS-ol

The British Fashion Awards late last year saw singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham bring out her inner vamp by dressing in this floor-scraping, long-sleeved gown (with jewelled shoulder) from her own Spring 2010 collection which gave a nod to the gothic trend. Victoria sure knows the power of a LBG (Long Black Gown).blondie

Another often-forgotten fashion icon was Debbie Harry (or Blondie as she was known) who was the queen of customized clothes. What better way to own couture! She even looked great wearing a pillowcase and red electrical tape!

So there you have it you lucky, lucky people: The Female Style Icon Collection! We’ll take a look at the men next! But don’t delay because once they’re gone, they’re gone & in someone else’s wardrobe forever!

Life’s A Stage: Gaga Takes A Bow

The final ‘Gaga About Fashion’ collection celebrates Lady Gaga’s desire to push the boundaries of fashion and art and give Pop Music back its glamour and sense of wonder. She is a true artist: otherworldly, fiendishly talented and totally driven by her ‘little monster’ fans.

I present to you: ‘The Lady Theatrical Collection’.

9 collectable items are showcased in ‘The Lady Theatrical Collection’ all available to buy for your Stars for a limited period from now until 22 June 2010. No outfit would be complete without shoes & shades so make sure your Stars look the part in a range of Gaga accessories.

And remember…….Whenever you buy all the items from any one Collection you’ll automatically unlock an extra, exclusive Gaga piece for your Star!**1

Introducing the collectable items….

2One of Lady Gaga’s multiple changes of outfit at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City last year saw this fantastic silver-quilted bodysuit and matching glittery moon boots.

A performance last December at the Nokia Theatre in LA showcased this incredible disco ball outfit complete with shoulder pads big enough to rest her weary, over-worked head on!

3Georgio Armani shook things up at this year’s Grammys by designing Gaga’s entire wardrobe for the event including this neo-Tinker Bell super high cut bodysuit complete with ultra-arched shoulders and matching green glitter booties.

4During the infamous ‘Telephone’ video Gaga wore this Stars-and-Stripes bra-top and short shorts in the choreographed diner scene with Beyonce. All items courtesy of Haus of Gaga.

5The metal panier dress Gaga wore at the end of the Paparazzi video came from Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2007 collection and inspired by one of her favorite designer’s (Thierry Mugler) sexy robot theme. This introduced us all to her unique mix of glamour, dirt, decadence and beauty and had us begging for more!6

Once again, the seminal ‘Telephone’ video introduced this custom-made chain and jumpsuit by Viktor & Rolf and sunglasses by Haus of Gaga.

7In perhaps one of her more shocking looks (like something out of a freaky Marilyn Manson video) Gaga wrapped herself up in “custom-made crime scene tape” by Brian Lichtenberg. Which of your Stars is daring enough to wear this piece?!

8A true originator and inspired by her trip to Japan, Lady Gaga posed in this unique Hello Kitty dress to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 35th Birthday.  Stuffed animal couture! Lol!

**Please note – To unlock the special item, all identified collectables must be purchased for the same Star. The exclusive item will be in that Star’s wardrobe the day after you complete the collection. The Gaga accessories are NOT mandatory to unlock the hidden item. See in store for details!

One of Lady Gaga’s more bizarre ensembles, worn during one of her 5 costume changes at the MTV Music Awards in New York, was this unusual red lace mini dress with matching mask and headdress.  It made her acceptance speech a little tricky!
